A new group, Gugama Youth Federation, is claiming responsibility for the Kidnap.
Dakar — Three foreign oil workers were released unharmed on Friday after being abducted at gunpoint from a work bus in the oil city of Port Harcourt in southern Nigeria.
After early reports that two employees of the Italian energy giant ENI SPA had been abducted, police later confirmed that three had been captured.
Lagos — United States (US) oil worker, Mr Ricky Wiginton was on Wednesday, killed in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. But a diplomat and another source working for the employer of the dead expatriate, Baker Hughes said, the attack may not be linked with militants' vow to cripple the oil industry in Niger Delta.
An American has been shot dead in Port Harcourt in the first "drive by" killing of a foreigner in the city.
The US Embassy said it could not name the man at the time the Daily Trust went to press.
A spokesman said: "We are aware of the incident, and we are investigating. We cannot release the man's name at this stage."
Port Harcourt — Gunmen abducted two expatriate employees of Italian oil services company Saipem in the southern Nigerian oil centre of Port Harcourt on Thursday said police, in the latest in a series of attacks on oil installations and workers.
Warri — THE Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), yesterday, dismissed a news report that it had brokered a three-month ceasefire agreement with the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) and other militant groups in the Niger-Delta region.
Agency — OYAL Dutch Shell yesterday decried its woes in Niger Delta, saying militant attacks on its operations in the region impacted negatively on its first quarter results.

The Nigerian Gas Company (NGC) has regained access to the Escravos pipeline which was blown up in the Niger Delta, giving hope that power supply in the country will improve in due course.
