Vanguard (Lagos)UNDERSTANDABLY, there is anxiety in the country over what the next line of action by the dreaded members of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger-Delta (MEND) would be, following the out of the blue arrest, Monday, September 3, at the Luanda Airport, Angola of the spokesman of the militant group, whose real name is Henry Okah, although, he operated with the nom de plume, Jomo Gbomo, over the years to bamboozle security agents.

Vanguard (Lagos)Port Harcourt - A COLOMBIAN was feared dead yesterday while four other expatriate oil workers were kidnapped by militants who stormed Saipem Nigeria Limited, Rumuolumeni, off Iwofe Road in Rivers State. The gunmen arrived the facility through the waterways. Once they anchored their boat, they started shooting. It was not immediately clear if the Columbian died from a stray bullet.

Daily Champion (Lagos)Port Harcourt/Warri - SUSPECTED militants of the Movement for The Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND) struck in Port Harcourt, Rivers State yesterday, killing one expatriate and kidnapped two others. However, MEND had not formally claimed responsibility as of last night.

This Day (Lagos)Port Harcourt - Few days after Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND), threatened to resume attacks without notice over the arrest of their leader, Mr Henry Okah alias Gbomo Jomo, militants yesterday afternoon attacked Saipem, an Italian oil firm, killed one Columbian and took three others away.

Jonathan gave the assurance when he received a delegation of Saipem corporate management, led by Executive Vice President in charge of off-shore business unit, Mr Pietro Varone, at the State House yesterday.
