MOVEMENT for Emancipation of the Niger-Delta (MEND) and the Ijaw Elders Council in Delta State, yesterday, faulted the claim by the Joint Task Force (JTF) on the Niger-Delta that two soldiers were killed by gunmen at a military location in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, Monday, saying the soldiers fired at each other and died.

Warri — Violence resurfaced in the Niger Delta region at the weekend when an oil pipeline was blown up by some aggrieved youths. The pipeline vandalisation took place at Okuntun, a riverside settlement between Odimodi and Ogulagha, in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State. The vandals were believed to have used explosives suspected to be dynamites.
